FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is Candlewick Lake Managed?

Candlewick Lake Association is managed as a not-for-profit Homeowners Association.  The Association is governed by a Candlewick Lake Board of Directors elected by the property owners of Candlewick Lake.  The Association’s departments such as Public Safety, Administration, Maintenance, and Building Department are managed by a General Manager and Assistant General Manager, which report to the Board of Directors.

How do I enter the community to look at property?

As a gated community, Candlewick allows interested parties to tour the lake on Sundays from 2 PM to 4 PM during realtor open houses, except for holiday weekends.  Prospective buyers and realtors may stop at the Administration Office during normal business hours and obtain a 2-hour pass, as well, to tour the property.

When are the Community Garage Sales?

The third weekend in May & September. They are held on the Friday & Saturday with Friday being for residents only. The hours are 9-6pm on Friday and 9-4pm on Saturday.

What do the Association Dues Cover?

The Association fiscal year runs from May 1st to April 30th of each year.  The Association Dues provide free access to the golf course, pool, and other amenities, as well as maintenance of those amenities, roadways, and ditch ways.  Dues also pay for 24 hour Public Safety patrols and gate access as well as patrol of our lake.  Dues also provide funds to preserve and protect our man made lake.  Other items that are provided are plowing of our streets, mowing and maintenance of parks, programs, and personnel

When does the Candlewick Newspaper come out?

The Candlewick Lake Newspaper is printed on the 4th Wednesday of each month.  Residents are mailed copies of monthly newspaper and copies can also be found at the gates, Rec center, and Administration office.

What is the Long Term Capital Reserve?

The long range planning committee proposed a long-term plan to defer the future replacement costs of current equipment and amenities.  It is reviewed yearly and funds are based on the projected needs for that year, using the reserve plan as a guide.

When are Board meetings and are they open to residents?

Regular Association Board meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at our Rec Center facility.  All board meetings other than executive meetings are open to residents.
