Candlewick Lake is a Gated Homeowners Association Community. Candlewick Lake was created in the early 1970's and was ultimately turned over to the Homeowners Association in the early 1970's. We have undergone tremendous growth both in numbers of homes and residents, but also in the type of community we have grown to be.

Candlewick Lake began life as a secluded fishing and camping community. Most residents at that time utilized the community for fishing, summer homes, and camping at the old campgrounds. We have now evolved into a working recreational community which is home to a vastly diverse population who enjoy the private atmosphere.

Our Wild Life

Candlewick Lake is home to many species of wildlife year round. Our Candlewick Swans are released onto our lake each year to help control the Canada Geese population and add a pristine atmosphere to the lake. It is not uncommon to see red fox, blue heron, wild turkey, pheasants, minks and of course deer. You will also see much of the normal wildlife that encompasses a lake atmosphere from raccoons and muskrat to beaver and woodchuck.

We have many residents who are avid aviary enthusiasts. They have had the opportunity to photograph numerous types of hawks, falcons and even the occasional eagle has ventured our way.

Candlewick’s pride and joy is our lake. Families and friends use the lake for boating, fishing (our lake is stocked), water skiing, tubing, paddle boating (boat rentals available), and daily dock rental. A copy of the boating and lake regulations can be obtained at the Rec Center or the front office. Safety comes first, all boats must be registered and inspected by appointment the first time on the water, after that enjoy and have fun but be safe.
